inMalta is a travel organisation specialising in study holidays and English courses in Malta, with a direct presence on the island since 2010. We organise programmes for international students of different age groups, combining English courses, accommodation, meals, activities, excursions and different levels of supervision. Being based directly in Malta allows us to know the schools, accommodation and services we offer and to provide a point of reference throughout the stay.
Our Under 18 programmes are differentiated according to age. The different options include Summer Camp inMalta, Summer Club inMalta, Experience inMalta and programmes with host family accommodation. It is not only the age range that changes from one programme to another: accommodation, activities, level of supervision and the amount of independence given to students also vary.
The standard duration of many summer programmes is two weeks. Depending on the programme, school and availability, it is also possible to arrange stays of a different duration or extend the experience for several weeks.
Age is the first factor to consider, but it is not the only one. It is also important to consider your child's level of independence, the type of accommodation preferred, the level of supervision required by the family and how the student would like to experience Malta. Summer Camp, Summer Club, Experience inMalta and Homestay are genuinely different options, not simply different names for similar packages.
Summer Camp and Summer Club take place at Campus inMalta, a modern student residence where students live in small groups and have their own kitchen/living area on their floor. Experience inMalta takes place at the Salini Resort, a 4-star superior hotel where accommodation, school, restaurant and swimming pool are all located within the same complex. Homestay, on the other hand, provides accommodation with a host family and requires students to be more independent when travelling between home, school and activity meeting points.
ENGLISH COURSE
Yes. All study holiday programmes include an English course. Summer Camp and Summer Club include an English course at Malta University Language School, located within the Campus, while Experience inMalta includes an English course at the European School of English directly at the Salini Resort. For Homestay programmes, the school mainly depends on its proximity to the host family.
The standard programme generally includes 20 lessons per week, four lessons per day from Monday to Friday. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, for a total of 15 hours per week and 30 hours during a standard two-week stay.
Before the course begins, students take a placement test. The result allows the school to assess their language level and place them in the most appropriate class. Students who arrive together may therefore attend different classes if their English levels are different, while still following the same timetable.
Yes. The purpose of the placement test is precisely to place each student in a class appropriate to their starting level. Students therefore do not need to already have a high level of English to take part in a study holiday.
It depends on the programme, the period, the language level and the mix of students present. Experience inMalta offers international classes. In Summer Camp and Summer Club, lessons may be organised in international groups or, depending on the composition of the students and organisational requirements, in closed groups.
Lessons work on the four main language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Particular importance is given to the ability to understand and communicate. The language-learning experience also continues outside the classroom, during activities and through interaction with students from other countries.
Yes, provided that they meet the attendance requirements established by the school. Malta University Language School issues a certificate of attendance, while ESE programmes require students to attend at least 80% of lessons in order to receive the final certificate.
ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
It depends on the programme. At Campus inMalta, students mainly stay in air-conditioned twin rooms with private bathrooms. Some triple rooms are also available and, during certain periods and at an additional cost, a limited number of single rooms may be available. Experience inMalta normally provides air-conditioned quadruple rooms at the Salini Resort. With Homestay, students generally share a room with other students of a similar age in the host family's home.
A preference can be indicated at the time of booking. Requests are taken into consideration subject to availability, room arrangements, students' age and gender, and the organisation of the accommodation or host family.
Rooms used at Campus inMalta have private bathrooms. At the Salini Resort, students stay in hotel rooms with their own bathroom. With Homestay, the bathroom used by students is separate from the host family's bathroom, according to the arrangements established for this type of accommodation.
Yes. The accommodation used provides Wi-Fi. Availability and connection quality may naturally vary depending on the area of the property and the number of users connected.
Yes. The programmes include full board, but meal arrangements vary considerably depending on the accommodation. At the Campus, students take part in preparing breakfast and lunch together with the Group Leaders, while dinner is prepared by the kitchen staff. Experience inMalta includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant inside the Salini Resort. With Homestay, breakfast and dinner are prepared by the host family and lunch is provided as a packed lunch.
They must be communicated at the time of booking. The programmes can cater for a range of dietary requirements, but it is important to provide all the necessary information in advance. The possibility of accommodating particularly complex requirements must be checked before confirming the s
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
The programme varies according to the option chosen. It may include beach days, swimming pool activities, visits to Valletta, Mdina and other Maltese locations, Comino and the Blue Lagoon, water activities, parks, boat trips, sports, international evenings and opportunities to socialise. Summer Camp, Summer Club and Experience inMalta have significantly different activity programmes.
It depends on the student's age and the programme. For younger students and those attending Summer Camp, activities normally form an integral part of the programme. Summer Club is designed for older students and activities are optional. Experience inMalta also gradually introduces greater independence for older age groups.
In programmes where participation is optional, students may choose not to take part after informing their Group Leaders. For programmes and age groups where activities form part of the programme, any exemption must be managed according to the applicable rules and, where necessary, authorised by a parent.
Yes. Depending on the programme, activities may include kayaking, SUP, snorkelling, JetSki with an instructor, parasailing, Banana Ride and Sofa Ride, as well as boat trips and beach days.
No. Sea activities depend on weather conditions, wind, sea conditions and supplier availability. When conditions are not suitable, the organisation may change the programme, replace an activity or reschedule it for another day.
Yes. Depending on the programme, there may be evening visits, international Under 18 parties, beach evenings, cinema, group activities and other experiences. Programmes for older students also include free evenings.
This mainly depends on age. Summer Camp has a highly structured programme with very little completely free time. Summer Club, on the other hand, includes four free afternoons over two weeks, several free evenings and one free Sunday. Experience inMalta provides different levels of independence according to age.
SUPERVISION, INDEPENDENCE AND SAFETY
The level of supervision depends on age and programme. Younger students take part in highly supervised programmes and are not allowed to leave the accommodation independently. Older teenagers are gradually given greater independence, while still having Group Leaders as points of reference, clear rules and specific return times.
In programmes managed directly by inMalta, Group Leaders stay in the same accommodation as the students and are their main point of reference throughout the stay. For Summer Camp and Summer Club, they live at the Campus; for Experience inMalta, they are based in the same accommodation used by the students. Homestay follows a different arrangement.
It depends on age and programme. Students aged 9 to 13 on Experience inMalta are not allowed to leave the Salini Resort independently. In Summer Camp, designed for students aged 13 to 15, students are not normally allowed to leave the Campus independently unless specifically authorised. Older Experience students and Summer Club participants are given greater independence according to the rules of their programme.
Programmes that allow students to go out independently have specific return times. In Summer Club, for example, students must be in their rooms by midnight from Sunday to Thursday and by 1:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Similar rules apply to Experience inMalta students who are authorised to go out independently.
Group Leaders stay in the same accommodation in programmes supervised directly by inMalta and remain a point of reference for students. Campus inMalta also has a 24-hour reception.
Students can contact their Group Leaders or the staff responsible for their programme. If necessary, local medical services are contacted and the family is informed according to the circumstances. It is important to provide any relevant information required to manage the student's stay before departure.
The response depends on the nature of the emergency. Having staff based directly in Malta allows us to intervene and liaise with the school, accommodation, suppliers and local services whenever necessary. In the event of a medical emergency, the appropriate medical services are contacted and the family is informed.
Yes. In supervised programmes, parents can have the Group Leaders' mobile contact details. Group Leaders are a point of reference for both students and families throughout the stay.
Yes. There is no general ban on smartphone use. However, during lessons, activities and organised parts of the programme, students must follow the instructions of teachers, Group Leaders and accommodation staff.
Students receive a personal ID badge with their name and an identification lanyard. The badge is used during lessons, activities, excursions and organised transfers.
HOMESTAY
Yes. The host families used for Homestay programmes are licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority and must meet the requirements established for hosting students.
Placement takes into account factors such as distance from the school, the student's age and gender, any requests to share a room with specific students and dietary requirements. Before arrival, students receive a profile containing information about their assigned host family.
We recommend it for students aged 14 to 17 who are sufficiently independent and have a good ability to adapt. Unlike Campus and Resort programmes, students must travel to school and to activity meeting points and adapt to the host family's schedules and routines.
During organised activities, students join the groups included in the programme and are supervised by the appointed leaders. inMalta Group Leaders do not live with the host family. Homestay therefore requires a higher level of independence than residential programmes supervised directly by inMalta.
TRAVEL, AIRPORT AND DOCUMENTS
Flights are never included in the package. Students can travel to Malta from different countries and airports. Travel arrangements and any additional services must therefore be checked according to the programme booked.
Yes, when permitted by the student's age, the airline and the programme. For minors using an airline's Unaccompanied Minor service, specific procedures are followed both on arrival and departure.
inMalta programmes always include transfers between Malta International Airport and the accommodation. inMalta staff will meet students just outside the baggage reclaim area, inside Malta International Airport.
The documents required depend on the student's nationality, country of origin and the entry regulations applicable at the time of travel. For some students, a valid travel document is sufficient, while others may require a passport, visa or additional authorisation for minors. It is the family's responsibility to check the requirements applicable to their child's nationality well in advance.
This depends on nationality, length of stay and the applicable regulations. Malta is part of the Schengen Area, but requirements are not the same for all nationalities. We recommend that families who require a visa check the requirements before making any non-refundable travel arrangements.
INSURANCE
The terms and conditions of inMalta packages provide for an All Risks insurance policy specifically designed for students and guests staying in the accommodation offered. The cover also includes third-party liability. Conditions, limits, exclusions and procedures are those specified in the relevant insurance policy documentation.
No. As with any insurance policy, the cover provided is subject to conditions, limits and exclusions. For example, damage considered intentional rather than accidental may not be covered by the All Risks policy. It is therefore important to read the insurance documentation before departure.
Any cancellation cover must be checked according to the insurance policy and package selected. Before booking, it is important to distinguish between insurance cover during the stay and any separate cancellation insurance.
BOOKING, PRICES AND PAYMENTS
This depends on the programme chosen. Packages always include the English course, accommodation, full board, activities, excursions, local transport included in the programme, assistance and supervision. The individual programme page specifies exactly which services are included and which, if any, are excluded.
Bookings are made through the procedure provided by inMalta. Before confirming, we recommend carefully checking the programme, age group, dates, availability, type of accommodation, included services and applicable terms and conditions.
No. Booking normally requires an initial deposit, followed by payment of the balance according to the deadlines stated in the booking conditions. Amounts and deadlines should be checked for the programme and season selected.
Early Booking promotions or special conditions may be available during certain periods. Discounts, deadlines and conditions may change and should be checked at the time of booking.
Changes may be possible subject to availability and the conditions applicable to the booking. Changes to dates, programme, accommodation or other services may result in price differences or additional charges.

LIVING AN INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Yes. Malta is an international destination for learning English and our programmes provide many opportunities to meet students from other countries. The international mix may vary depending on the school, week, class and programme chosen.
English is the language used during lessons and is the common language when students of different nationalities take part in activities together. Students may naturally speak their own language with others from the same country, but one of the aims of the experience is to create real opportunities to use English outside the classroom as well.
English is an official language in Malta, alongside Maltese. Students can therefore study English at school and continue using it in everyday life. The island's size also makes it possible to combine lessons, the sea, activities, excursions and cultural visits within the same stay.
